Chihuahua
The Chihuahua usually weighs under 6 pounds, making it one of the smallest recognized dog breeds. Chihuahuas can be loving and loyal family companions, but their tiny size makes them better suited to gentle, respectful children and careful handling.
Smooth-coated Chihuahuas shed a low to moderate amount, while long-coated dogs need more frequent brushing and also shed. Their life expectancy is commonly 14-16 years, with some living longer.
